In 1912 the foundation-stone is laid in Zeulenroda (Thuringia), at that time the stronghold of the “elastic stockings”. In 1919 Julius Zorn expanded the production by new techniques: now the stockings were knitted instead of being woven.
A family business gets big
Within a few years the company that had initially been small had secured its reputation for first-class quality. The family business could now rely on the active support of motivated workers who were glad to stand beside the Juzo family. Julius Zorn Sr.'s son, Julius Jr., followed in his father's footsteps and helped the company to further successes.
The wild Thirties
In the 30's the reliable Juzo goods were being sent throughout the world. The medical stockings travelled long distances, sometimes in a most adventurous way.
The restart
In 1948 the grandson of the company founder, Hans-Julius Zorn, together with his wife Rosemarie founded in Aichach/Bavaria the new company of "Juzo". Already in 1950 the company had more than 40 people on its staff, plus several people working at home.
Juzo gets busy
The Zorn family was treading new paths in the social field and also in staff management: as early as in the fifties the pay-out of a share of the profits to the staff was introduced. In those days that was the equivalent of a social revolution.
Juzo goes America
In 1980 Juzo also conquered the American market: Juzo Inc. was founded in Cuyahoga Falls in the state of Ohio. Annerose Zorn, who is the daughter of Hans-Julius Zorn is managing the company on the spot.
Juzo's top executives
In 1988 Annerose Zorn took over the management of Juzo which has nowadays more than 800 employees worldwide. In 1992 Uwe Schettler became the managing director of Juzo GmbH in Germany.
Further education educates
In 1997 the Juzo Akademie has been founded: with an extensive offer of trainings Juzo gives excellent possibilities for further education for employees in the medical sector.
Innovation counts
In February 2003 the new logistics center with a storage area of over 3,000 m² for more than 15,000 articles was opened. Thanks to the most modern technology with fully automatic production techniques, a box-sealing system and also a computer-supported data mobile for undocumented commissioning by means of scanners, another step has been taken towards even shorter delivery times.
Today just as yesterday: Juzo is helping
"Helping is a life-long task" - this was already the motto of the Juzo-founder Julius Zorn which now continues to be followed by all the Juzo staff. Together with the technologic innovation for the constant improvement of the high-quality Juzo products the patient is still placed in the foreground: For more than 90 years now Juzo is working on the field of health precaution. Competent education and patient-fitting information are important conditions for prevention.
