If you go to the stable in the evening the horses often have swollen legs. There are many reasons for swollen horse legs – weather fluctuations, box rest, extended periods of standing in the stall or overexertion.

Lymphatic system of the horse

Compared to a human horses do have a very complex lymphatic system. Horses do have around 8.000 lymph nodes – a human does have only approx. 500 – 600 lymph nodes. That is the reason why horses are more prone to getting lymph oedemas.

The braces help in case of e. g. swollen legs or windgalls. When used in conjunction with movement, they function like a lymph drainage and also assist in maintaining a constant circumference of the reduced leg.
