Certified quality

Patients can rely on the consistently high and strictly-controlled quality of all medical aids from Juzo.

Juzo's compression products are manufactured almost exclusively in Germany and the USA, and using high quality materials that need to meet stringent requirements.

As a founding member of the Quality Seal Association, Juzo played a leading role in defining the specific quality requirements for products used in compression therapy; today these requirements are specified in a RAL standard and are the prerequisite for acceptance into the medical aids catalog. Back in 1998, Juzo was one of the first companies in the industry to implement a general quality management system. Juzo is currently certified to the stringent EN ISO 9001 and EN ISO 13485 standards. Annual audits by the certification body confirm the consistently high quality standard of its products.

Juzo is entitled to display the following quality seals:

ISO certification

Juzo implemented its general quality management system back in 1998, and was one of the first companies in this industry to be certified to EN ISO 9001 and EN 46001. Juzo is currently certified to EN ISO 9001 and EN ISO 13485, which superseded EN 46001.

Oeko-Tex® Standard 100

“Oeko-Tex Standard 100” is a globally-standardized and independent testing and certification system that applies to all stages of processing, from raw materials through to the intermediate and final product. The more intensive the skin contact, the stricter the requirements that must be met. All Juzo compression fabrics, both the circular knitted and flat knitted varieties, have been awarded the “Oeko-Tex Standard 100” label for textiles. This enables the company Juzo to guarantee that all components that go into a product are completely harmless to humans and the environment. The overall requirements of this standard far exceed those of existing national legislation.

Quality seal RAL

All medical compression stockings from Juzo comply with the relevant RAL standard. The test specifications contain a comprehensive set of binding guidelines on the manufacture of medical compression stockings and sleeves,

for example:

  • material characteristics (harmless to humans)
  • periodic quality inspections, for example by the Hohenstein Research Institute
  • rubber-elastic properties in lengthwise and crosswise directions
  • compression classes from 1-4 , for sleeves compression classes 1-3
  • manufacture of custom-made and standard sized stockings
